Part One: 'Information overload - tackling waste and inefficiency in the tendering process'
.

It is estimated that between £3bn and £5bn is wasted every year in construction tendering because members of the supply chain are supplied with too much irrelevant or incomplete information and are not given enough time to assess it all before having to submit their bids. The HVCA and the Association of Ductwork Contractors and Allied Services (ADCAS) are working together to try and address this hugely damaging and costly problem. This seminar will be an opportunity to find out what is being done and to have your say about what measures you would like to see implemented.

Chair: Kevin Talbot, chairman of the HVCA's Ductwork Group; speakers include... David Churcher of Hitherwood Consulting

Part Two: 'Compliance Culture - How legislation is being undermined'.

The industry has been broadly supportive of legislation developed to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions from buildings, but its efforts are being undermined by the failure of those responsible to enforce that legislation. During this seminar HVCA president Graham Manly will discuss the implications of the lack of enforcement, why this is damaging efforts to reduce carbon emissions from buildings and what needs to be done to get the programme back on track.

Speakers include Mike Malina
